Hi everyone,
I have an older NexDome, and like many of you, I’ve had to deal with the notorious water collection area. Over time, cracks have formed in this section, which I’ve successfully patched with Gorilla tape. However, one of the panels eventually cracked so severely that it created a hole, allowing water to seep in during a heavy rainstorm. Thankfully, my camera inside the dome alerted me via email, and I managed to cover the dome in time to prevent further damage.
Fast forward to now: replacing the cracked panels (three in total) is no longer cost-effective due to high shipping costs and other factors. Recognizing that adhesives don’t easily stick to ABS material, I reached out to Babek, who kindly sent me two small tubes of M110 structural adhesive. However, I estimate I’ll need at least a quart or more to address the cracks—including the smaller hairline ones that have developed over time.
While researching alternative solutions, I stumbled across a YouTube video demonstrating how to make an ABS slurry that appeared to deliver excellent results: ABS Slurry Video
Has anyone tried this method? If so, what were your results?
Thanks in advance!
Omar
