I have to position my charger just right even after the terminals make contact in order to get a charge. Perhaps this has set in from wear or there were some hiccups with its post-build quality. Regardless , has anyone found familiar faults in the shutter charging setup?
Anybody know what that conductive fabric is called? That's my first suspect. I'm considering soldering it to the screws its on, it seems to be hanging with wider than screw holes. Although I've held one contact at a time to the bolt in the housing it leads to, and that didn't seem to work...
I've had about 5 dead batteries in the past week so it's very unreliable right now.
Please post some photos.
Jason, I have been meaning to reply since you posted and just couldn't find the 10 minutes I needed.
I don't know what the fabric is called but do a search for conductive fabric, and you'll get lots of hits, One thing I did find with the magnet attachment to the fabric was there were no lock washers and after a while the magnets just fell off. I ended up putting lock washers on all the small bolts and nuts on the shutter magnets including the open/close ones on the motor housing itself.
As the motor closes in on the charger the hanging magnets should jump to the charger. I have experienced one of the magnets sticking to the bottom of the motor and not making contact. I see this as a real problem when I get to remote operation.
As far as having dead batteries please watch this Dakota Lithium YouTube video on resetting their batteries. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cd-86MrP3c
Good luck,
Steven
