As I await my NexDome to be manufactured and a date set for delivery, I wonder about what NexDome does, if anything to test fit the pieces together to ensure that the customer will not run into difficulty in assembly at our location. So, does NexDome put the domes together prior to shipping to ensure that the pieces fit as designed?
Also, are the pieces numbered or with letters with clear instructions as to which piece is to be assembled with another? This would be helpful.
Or are these ideas I have raised here beyond the scope for the manufactured a plastic personal backyard observatory dome at the price point?
I suppose it depends on the specific manufacturing process. i.e., how are the panels for the base and dome sections made?
Do the panels glue or bolt together?
I have no idea how the panels are manufactured. Since the panels, of the same shape and size, nest really well, I thought they would be pressed. I haven't seen injection molding marks or stringers on the edges. But the only people who would know is NexDome. You can email them and see if they'll talk about the process.

As far as I know, NexDome does not dry fit your dome before shipping. Most of the parts to the dome are interchangeable like the base except for the door. If you add a bay (s) those parts are interchangeable with each other too, you know right & left, and the top can't be switched. The replacement dome sections I got are not marked, but there are only two shapes, rectangular and triangle.
I was told my 2018 panels are ABS plastic. I do believe the new panels are different and require a hybrid structural methacrylate adhesive, if that helps identify the plastic, please let me know.
